Importance of Digital Marketing Compared to Old-Time Newspaper Marketing
Tumblr media
There is no denying that the Internet, coupled with technological advancements, has revolutionized the face of marketing. Earlier, the best and the most effective way to promote a business was to get display ads printed in newspapers. But times have changed. Today’s generation is more hooked to the digital world than printed media. Consequently, there is a growing need to shift focus on digital marketing. There is no exception for the healthcare industry as well.
What is Healthcare Digital Marketing?
In healthcare, digital marketing refers to using digital platforms such as social media and websites as tools for marketing communication. The “sponsored ads” that pop up on your social feed and the emails you get from healthcare companies are all a part of digital marketing.
Trends in Healthcare Digital Marketing in India
The past few years have been witness to India emerging as one of the fastest-growing digital economies globally. The period between 2014 and 2017 saw the digital adoption index growing by 90%. Regarding revenue, the Indian digital healthcare market stood at a valuation of $ 116.61 billion in 2018. The numbers will expectedly hit INR 485.43 billion by 2024, with a CAGR of around 27.41% during the years 2019–2024. (Source.)
Why Are the Downsides of Traditional Marketing?
The traditional marketing mode is a conventional method to reach out to a semi-targeted audience through various offline advertising methods. It usually comes in prints, broadcasts, direct mail, telephone, and outdoor advertising like billboards. However, conventional marketing has the following drawbacks:
Very costly
Almost no direct interaction with the audience
Making updates is not easy in a static newspaper ad or an already aired TV commercial.
No room for customizations to target a specific audience
Measuring ROI becomes tough.
The rate of leads converting into paying customers is meager.
Receiving feedback is not easy.
Why Go Digital with Healthcare Marketing?
As per ClickZ, the global population has 57% internet users with an average online activity of 6 hours 42 minutes each day. (Source) With different channels like social media, websites, content marketing, pay-per-click, and more, there can be no better time to tap the digital platform’s potential. While traditional newspaper marketing is still useful, technology makes it easier to broaden your outreach, especially when offering something essential, like healthcare services. So here are the top benefits of adopting digital marketing:
Better audience profiling
Direct interaction with the target audience.
Better prediction of customer behavior
Easier to get feedbacks on your service or brand
Tracking your marketing progress is easy.
Cost-effective compared to traditional advertising.
Enough scope for customizing and updating marketing communication
Conclusion
With progressive government policies, India’s robust digital footprint has played a vital role in nurturing the country’s digital healthcare ecosystem. Healthcare providers are turning to digital media to grow their business while offering their services to the public. Digital marketing has promising prospects for the future, far outweighing the limitations posed by traditional marketing.

Wood Engraving Wednesday
GUSTAV KRUELL
The nineteenth century was the age of the great commercial wood engravers who produced images for newspapers, magazines, catalogs, advertising, and book illustration, often as reproductions from photographs and paintings. Among the leading wood engravers in the United States during this period was German-American Gustav Kruell (1843-1907) who co-founded the Society of American Wood Engravers, which lasted from 1881 to 1902. Among his most notable engravings is this print entitled Rent Day, produced in 1887 after a painting by the American illustrator and genre painter Alfred Kappes (1850-1894).
This print is reproduced in Engravings on Wood by Members of the Society of American Wood-Engravers by American newspaper publisher and art enthusiast William M. Laffan (1848-1909), published in New York by Harper and Brothers in 1887. Laffan offers an unashamedly jingoistic view of the superiority of American wood engraving:
In Europe the largest and the most distinct style of engraving upon wood is that of the French school. . . . There is There is mind in the line of the French engraver, and a splendid audacity in his treatment that fills would-be imitators with dismay, but a German engraver has no ideas of his own, and is the slave of his technical limitations. [The American engraver] has achieved a character more original and pronounced, and more nearly national, than any other. . . . The work of the American wood-engraver has a distinction that is original with itself.
Of Kruell's rendering of Rent Day, Laffan writes:
Mr. Kruell deals with a subject of a different class, and displays his versatile mastery of technique of his art. It is an exceedingly delicate and faithful translation of bold and difficult color values, and as a truthful and pleasing reproduction of the original is a fine example of wood-engraving and of Mr. Kruell's best work.
Our copy of Engravings on Wood is another gift from our friend Tony Drehfal, a leading member of the contemporary counterpart to the Society of American Wood Engravers, the Wood Engravers' Network.

June 7th is National Donut Day! This day, observed on the first Friday in June, celebrates the small fried cake of sweetened dough typically consumed in the morning.
If you asked us a year ago if we could print something donut related, we would have been hard pressed. However, since we received last summer a gift of 109 cuts in the mail from a viewer, we turned to the Brett from Pennsylvania Collection for inspiration.
For today, Howard letterpress printed a halftone of a milk advertisement. This advertisement from the American Dairy Association was published in newspapers and magazines across the country in the 1950s. It depicts a glass of milk with the text, “You never outgrow your need for Milk!” Donuts are displayed in the background. The mortised out (open) area would be for other text that could be changed. This was printed with Pantone PMS 7533c rubber base ink using our Washington hand press.

Outsiders Week Day One - How Ponyboy got his Bouncy Ball
It all started when Dally went to get more cigarettes.
Johnny and I tagged along because we had nothing better to do, and frankly we also needed a weed.
“Can y'all get any slower? C’mon man hurry up!” Dally called.
We were headed to the Rexall Drugstore. Dally, Johnny, and I usually hit it up because we never got caught using the five finger discount. That and it was one of the only corner stores in the East Side.
Gravel crunched underneath my Chucks and stray dogs barked in the distance. The smell of cigarette smoke and a slight chill wafted through the air.
Autumn was starting to set in. Soon I would have to convince Johnny to sleep at our house instead of at that old lot. Speaking of Johnny, he was kicking a pebble down the street. We were kind of dragging our feet, and this was getting Dally real worked up.
“I oughta leave you two slowpokes behind,” Dally spat.
There was no real venom behind his voice, but the comment made Johnny snap out of his daze real quick.
“Wait up, Dal!” he called, jogging to catch up. I followed close behind.
The facade of the building came into view. “REXALL STORE” was written on the front in real big red lettering. The paint was peeling and there were always signs that advertised sales in the glass display windows. We had arrived.
“Alright we’re here to lift some cigarettes. Make sure no one sees ya. I don't wanna be put in the cooler again, got it?” said Dally.
Johnny nodded profusely.
“Got it,” I mumbled.
“Great,” Dally grunted.
He pushed open the door, and a little bell jingled overhead. Dally slowly headed up towards the front, while Johnny and I wandered around. It was tough to be inconspicuous because the store was so small. We were eyeing up the penny candy when something caught my eye. It was a bouncy ball. A bright orange bouncy ball. It was like that thing was calling my name. Johnny and I stared at it for a good second. I was about to grab the ball when the owner started making a fuss.
“Hey, get back here greaser!” the owner shouted.
He was angrily waving around a newspaper as Dally bolted out the door. I started to panic. I looked at Johnny, and his eyes were real wide.
“Shoot! We gotta bounce!”
I started to run, and almost tripped over my own two feet. Johnny followed close behind. Even though he was small, he was as quick as a jackrabbit. I don’t know how long the owner of the store followed us until he gave up, but we stopped running about two blocks away just to be safe.
“So much for not getting caught,” I wheezed.
I was on the track team, but my lungs weren’t too good. I guess it's from all the smoking I do.
“Shut your trap, Pony!” Dally snapped. He looked all sour. “No one’s getting a weed now. We came here for nothin!”
Maybe Dally was right. I started to get all glum.
Then, Johnny pulled the bouncy ball I was eyeing out of his jeans pocket. I let out a surprised laugh. I couldn’t believe it! We were getting chased by the store owner and Johnny somehow swiped the ball in the process. He dropped it into my palm. I turned the ball over in my hands and smiled. The rubber shined in the sunlight. I bounced it up and down and laughed again.
“Thanks Johnny. You’re a real buddy,” I smiled, and put my arm around him.
“Yeah … no problem,” Johnny stuttered. A little blush creeped up on the back of his neck.
We walked back, and I bounced the ball the entire way home.

Hello, I loved your oblivious reader confession request!!
Would you mind doing the same question but for Pantalone and Ayato?
Please stay hydrated (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
It is a STRUGGLE for me to drink anything let alone water simply bc I am dumb. But thank you for the sentiment!!! I hope you enjoy this
Confessing To An Oblivious Crush (Pantalone, Ayato)
Tumblr media
Pantalone
He’s a bit of a flirt when it comes to the right person, he’s always going to give you special looks, grazing touches, and subtle winks, all of which will fly completely over your head
Needless to say, he’s a little bit stunned when you act so casually around him as though he hasn’t been throwing enough money at you to make anyone flustered. You are flustered to a degree, but not in the way that he wants you to be. You just think of him as nice, a sentiment he almost abhors
Pantalone doesn’t think himself as a particularly cruel man by any means, but the last thing he wants you to think of when you think of him is nice. Seductive? That’s his ultimate goal. Reckless? He certainly can be when it comes to things he wants. Sleazy? He’ll take it if it means you actually realize he wants you. But nice? Nice is for your average, mundane man, and he is anything but that
The subtle dance around your obliviousness is fun for the first few weeks, but he begins to grow just a tad bit impatient as time goes on
He briefly considers buying advertisements in all of the newspapers in Teyvat to announce his feelings for you, but he figures that would go over your head too, likely chalking it up to some strange prank of his, as if he were ever the type to play juvenile pranks in the first place
When monetary sentiments fail to catch your attention, Pantalone shifts gears and gets more touchy. He won’t be inappropriate, but he always manages to find a way to have his hand linger on your shoulder, or his chest graze your back as he scoots by you
It’s in this subtlety that he realizes his efforts are futile, and he has to bite back his pride when you ask him why he’s been so clumsy lately
Pantalone will not stop his efforts until you have returned his feelings or rejected him outright; even if you were to reject him, he would likely just double down and try to win you over even more. When he sees something he likes, he won’t stop until he gets it
Eventually, he grows tired of waiting and just calls you into his office one day, borderline cornering you as he stares down at you with a smirk and announces his feelings for you
He won’t let you leave until he at least gets confirmation that you understand exactly what he means. No, he doesn’t just like you as a colleague or friend, his heart burns for you
When you admit that you feel the same, Pantalone feels a sense of accomplishment, feeling like he is one step closer to being the man who has it all
You are certainly his sweetest conquest so far, and he can’t wait to grow even closer to you in order to see just how much this boon is worth
Tumblr media
Ayato
He almost prefers the oblivious types, not only for the cat and mouse like game both of you will take part in even though it’s without your knowledge, but also for the genuine honesty that these types of people often display
It provides almost a sense of mental stimulation for him to piece you together like a puzzle, finding out what buttons to press and how in order to get the reactions he relishes in
You also save him the headache if wondering what you’re thinking or what your goals are; it’s painfully obvious that you have no idea that you have attracted the attention of the head of the Kamisato Clan
He is never cruel or unfair, but he’s certainly not without mischievousness as he flirts shamelessly with you
As much as he would love to spend quality time with you, Ayato is extremely busy, so he makes up for this by sending you lots of thoughtful gifts (gifts so nice that you clearly wouldn’t buy them for anyone else other than someone you deeply cared about)
When he does get to spend time with you, near endless words of praise will flow from his lips, some of his compliments purposefully worded as innuendos solely to watch how you blush and squirm
Ayato finds it remarkable that you can get so flustered at his words yet somehow not realize he is being completely serious. But that just adds more layers to this game of his
He flirts and pulls back, repeating this pattern with various intensity to see how you react, but he will stop if this ends up upsetting you somehow
As his feelings grow more serious, he begins to take a more genuine, straightforward approach with his feelings for you. To his amazement, you still act as clueless as ever despite him talking at length about how he thought you would make a good partner for someone (it’s him, he’s someone)
This will end up pulling a genuine laugh out of him, one that would likely leave you confused because you hadn’t said anything particularly funny
When you ask him about it, Ayato will come clean and say that he found it absolutely adorable how oblivious you were to his advancements
If somehow you were still confused as to what he meant, he would gently take your hand and kiss the back of it, looking up at you with smoldering eyes and asking you if that answered your question

To bring about its hypothetical future, OpenAI must build a new digital ecosystem, pushing users toward the ChatGPT app or toward preëxisting products that integrate its technology such as Bing, the search engine run by OpenAI’s major investor, Microsoft. Google, by contrast, already controls the technology that undergirds many of our online experiences, from search and e-mail to Android smartphone-operating systems. At its conference, the company showed how it plans to make A.I. central to all of the above. Some Google searches now yield A.I.-generated “Overview” summaries, which appear in tinted boxes above any links to external Web sites. Liz Reid, Google’s head of search, described the generated results with the ominously tautological tagline “Google will do the Googling for you.” (The company envisions that you will rely on the same search mechanism to trawl your own digital archive, using its Gemini assistant to, say, pull up photos of your child swimming over the years or summarize e-mail threads in your in-box.) Nilay Patel, the editor-in-chief of the tech publication the Verge, has been using the phrase “Google Zero” to describe the point at which Google will stop driving any traffic to external Web sites and answer every query on its own with A.I. The recent presentations made clear that such a point is rapidly approaching. One of Google’s demonstrations showed a user asking the A.I. a question about a YouTube video on pickleball: “What is the two-bounce rule?” The A.I. then extracted the answer from the footage and displayed the answer in writing, thus allowing the user to avoid watching either the video or any advertising that would have provided revenue to its creator. When I Google “how to decorate a bathroom with no windows” (my personal litmus test for A.I. creativity), I am now presented with an Overview that looks a lot like an authoritative blog post, theoretically obviating my need to interact directly with any content authored by a human being. Google Search was once seen as the best path for getting to what’s on the Web. Now, ironically, its goal is to avoid sending us anywhere. The only way to use the search function without seeing A.I.-generated content is to click a small “More” tab and select “Web” search. Then Google will do what it was always supposed to do: crawl the Internet looking for URLs that are relevant to your queries, and then display them to you. The Internet is still out there, it’s just increasingly hard to find. If A.I. is to be our primary guide to the world’s information, if it is to be our 24/7 assistant-librarian-companion as the tech companies propose, then it must constantly be adding new information to its data sets. That information cannot be generated by A.I., because A.I. tools are not capable of even one iota of original thought or analysis, nor can they report live from the field. (An information model that is continuously updated, using human labor, to inform us about what’s going on right now—we might call it a newspaper.) For a decade or more, social media was a great way to motivate billions of human beings to constantly upload new information to the Internet. Users were driven by the possibilities of fame and profit and mundane connection. Many media companies were motivated by the possibility of selling digital ads, often with Google itself as a middle man. In the A.I. era, in which Google can simply digest a segment of your post or video and serve it up to a viewer, perhaps not even acknowledging you as the original author, those incentives for creating and sharing disappear. In other words, Google and OpenAI seem poised to cause the erosion of the very ecosystem their tools depend on.

I know Crimson said that Fizz and Ozzie's relationship was the worst-kept secret in Hell (or at the very least the secret being Fizz means so much to Ozzie he will do pretty much anything to have him back), but from the newspaper photos, it may only be recently that these photos have come up along with the implication of romance. If you look closely at the second screenshot, Fizz and Ozzie are in a private booth with someone pulling the curtain to take a candid picture, meaning that it wasn't from the moment when Ozzie was comforting Fizz after he got hit by Millie. So, while most likely there were other pictures before this, it may have only been recently that the slip-ups and suspicions really started kicking off; either that or Lust's inhabitants have a harder time seeing the signs of love between Fizz and Ozzie compared to demons from other rings. :/ Plus, the members of Ozzie's staff seemed shocked that they saw this display of affection between Fizz and Ozzie, so unless they just weren't use to them being so open about it, they really hadn't seen much indication that they were more than physical with each other. :/
*Sidenote: I love that Wally Wackford has an advertisement for wacky-waving inflatable flailing tube men. XD Nice Family Guy reference and on brand for Wally. ;) XD I also enjoy the Coppertone reference on the back on the newspaper. ^_^ XD

In 1979, an undercover police officer named Ron Stallworth came across an advertisement in his local newspaper posted by the KKK, who were actively seeking new members. Stallworth seized the opportunity to infiltrate the group, despite facing a significant hurdle—being an African American himself.
Determined to proceed, Stallworth initiated contact with them over the telephone, assuming a false identity as a white individual who claimed to be tired of facing perceived harassment from minorities. Surprisingly, the Klan welcomed him enthusiastically.
To effectively maintain his undercover status, Stallworth arranged for a Caucasian narcotics officer to attend the Klan's gatherings in his stead, presenting various forms of photo-less identification. This ingenious strategy succeeded, and over the following year, Stallworth's partner attended the meetings while Stallworth engaged the Klansmen in conversations over the phone.
In a particularly memorable instance, he even conversed with Grand Wizard David Duke, during which Duke arrogantly asserted his ability to identify African Americans by their speech—a claim that surely elicited amusement from Stallworth.
Stallworth managed to establish himself as a highly regarded and well-liked figure within the KKK, to the extent that he was offered a leadership role within the organization. Recognizing the impracticality of pursuing such a position, the operation was eventually terminated. Throughout the course of this operation, Stallworth effectively thwarted numerous instances of cross burnings in the region.
His sense of accomplishment was such that he proudly displayed his KKK membership card, framed, in his office.
